Team Project
Matrix Reimagined
A team reimagining of an iconic bullet-time sequence, focused on procedural bullet FX, camera integration, and final compositing.
Team project built around reinterpreting a well-known action sequence, with attention on timing, camera continuity, and clean integration between CG bullet elements and the live-action plate.
Breakdown
This shot was developed as part of a team project reimagining a recognizable bullet-time sequence. My focus was on building the bullet FX presentation in a way that felt controlled and readable while supporting the timing and framing of the original concept.
The main work was done in Houdini and Nuke. I built the procedural bullet setup, handled the 3D camera integration from tracking data, rendered the bullet elements, and completed the final compositing work so the shot would read as a cohesive finished sequence.
Post FX
A large part of the finishing work was making sure the CG bullet elements sat cleanly into the plate. That meant balancing the rendered passes, preserving the motion read of the bullets, and keeping the composite aligned with the camera movement and overall shot rhythm.
Technical Focus
The main challenge in this shot was keeping the bullet motion and spacing readable while matching the 3D camera to the tracked plate. The work needed to stay efficient enough to support iteration while still producing clean rendered passes for comp.
Additional Notes
This shot was completed as a collaborative project, with my contribution focused on bullet FX, rendering, compositing, and 3D camera setup.
